Protein + Iced Protein Coffee

Protein provides the building blocks that our bodies need to build muscle. Building muscle, as well as repairing muscle, can't happen if you aren't eating protein that contains the essential amino acids needed for those processes.

If you are on a weight loss journey, protein helps you sustain your muscle base so you can burn fat and keep muscle, while losing weight.

Some other benefits of protein are hormonal regulation, immune support, and promoting healthy skin, hair, & nails!


Depending on how active you are and what your goals are, aim to get between 0.8-1.2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. You can research the best specific amount for you and your body depending on your goals! There are several apps out there like MyFitnessPal that can help you track your food to make you aware of where you are on your protein intake.


Hitting your protein goal can be tough so try to get a source of protein in with each meal. Some ideas of protein sources are meat, fish, eggs, greek yogurt, beans, and lentils. It's always good to focus on real food but you can utilize protein shakes/bars when you need help boosting that protein number.


If you need help with your protein count and you enjoy your daily cup or two of coffee then you can try adding some protein to your coffee! This is especially a great trick if you tend to lean toward the sweet, flavored coffees. You can use a protein shake as your coffee creamer/sweetener in your hot cup or you can add some protein shake into your iced coffee.
